Our Mljet island tour will take you to this magical place, home to the oldest National Park on the Adriatic.
Situated just an hour and a half from Dubrovnik by speedboat, near the peninsula of Pelješac and island of Korčula, Mljet is one of the many must-see locations of the South Dalmatian coastline.
Our first stop on this Mljet boat tour is at the far end of the island, in a village called Pomena, which is where the entrance to the Mljet National Park is located. Should you need any assistance, your skipper will help you with buying tickets and getting around. With 2 hours of free time, you can visit the saltwater lakes and the monastery of Saint Mary at your leisure.
The richness of the flora and fauna on Mljet Island is one of the reasons why the northwestern part of the island became a national park in 1960. The protected area stretches over 3000 hectares.
As we approach the island by sea from Dubrovnik, you’ll quickly realise you’re entering an unspoiled oasis. It is awe-inspiring to see the dense green vegetation surrounded by clear, mesmerising blue sea, listening to the chirping of the birds and the song of the crickets.
A Mljet island tour is truly a must-do on your Dubrovnik holiday!
If you’re looking for another day trip adventure, you might also like our Elaphite Islands boat tour. Bask in more luxurious time at sea while exploring more islands for fun days out. And, of course, you can always contact us with any special requests to customise your day out.
When in Dubrovnik, you simply must see Lokrum island. With its small coves, caves and bays, tall trees, peacocks and bunnies wandering around, it is a joy for all visitors.
We will explore the island’s shoreline to continue your Dubrovnik sunset boat tour, highlighting the beautiful locations and sights. It’s also possible to enjoy a quick dip in the sea, so make sure you wear your bathing suit!
We will provide towels, as well as complimentary snacks, beverages, and a GoPro camera to help you capture those special moments together.
When the summer begins to fade and the evenings grow a little cooler, we are happy to offer you blankets and local tea for a delightfully cosy experience.
After leaving Lokrum island, we will continue our Dubrovnik sunset cruise towards the open sea. We will head out to see the beautiful coral reef that is Dubrovnik’s aquarium.
Your skipper will happily introduce you to the stories behind the sites and islands in the area, but it’s the amazing views that truly do the talking. Relax, take in the scene, feel the good vibes, be wowed by the beauty before you…all with a bottle of wine or prosecco to cheers to the good life.
You’ll finish your sunset cruise of Dubrovnik with a drop-off at your preferred location. We hope you’ll take these moments with you as priceless memories to rewind and replay for a lifetime!
The next stop on our Mljet boat tour is Odysseus’ cave. Legend has it that Odysseus was shipwrecked on Mljet, and was trapped by the nymph Calypso in a cave that can only be entered by sea, either swimming or in a smaller boat.
The cave is only a few meters wide but, on summer days around noon, the sunlight creates a natural phenomenon: a spectrum of colours in the sea.
We will drop our anchor near the cave and snorkel inside. You will be provided with complimentary snorkels, towels, and a GoPro camera to take the most amazing pictures and videos.
After your snorkelling excursion, you will surely need a break and some tasty nourishment, so we suggest a local speciality lunch on Šipan Island. We will happily offer our recommendation for a delicious seafood restaurant!
After lunch, we will begin our journey back to Dubrovnik. Since this is your private, custom tour, we will happily adjust the speed of our trip and pause for photos or a quick dip in the sea as you’d like!
We hope you’ll create beautiful memories from this day, ones that you will always rewind and replay to remember your experience in Dubrovnik.
